NOTE: As of 12/12/04, Carol's
Literary Greeting Cards is specializing in multimedia performances. The cards shown on this site are not available to the
general public. They are still being created, however, and are being given as door prizes to audience members at the performances.
See Multi-media Programs page, above. The book shown on this site is available from the publisher.
Carol's Literary Greeting Cards produces unique, high-quality, hand-made
greeting cards. A booklet of poems or stories is
attached to each card. The cover of the booklet matches the card, and the interior pages match the occasion
of the card, i.e., one of the Halloween booklets contains poems by Edgar Allan Poe.
The Cards
The cards are all approximately 8" x 5". Each is made of a layer of fine paper overlaying a slightly
larger layer of cardstock, creating the impression that the artwork is matted (framed). Except in cards F3 and F4,
the paper is partly translucent, resulting in subtle lighting effects. Delicate embellishments, such as tiny glass "pearls"
or special embossing powders, have been added to almost all. Many of these finer touches do not show up in the on-line images.
Also, the on-line images tend to have a glaring "neon" color to them, which is not the case with the actual cards.

Carol has also written a book, entitled Images for Wholeness: Strategies, Poems & Stories to Transcend
Cultural Illusions. Click on the "Images for Wholeness" heading above for more information.
The Booklets
All of the booklets, except for one, consist of twelve pages of carefully selected, meaningful poetry.
The poetry is tailored to the occasion for which the card would be sent, i.e., birthday, Christmas. One booklet (Booklet II)
consists of a short, fanciful, inspiring story. Many of the poems are in the public domain and have been written by such classic
poets as Henry Longfellow, William Butler
Yeats, Emily Dickinson, Percy Shelley, and Edgar Allan Poe. Carol has included her own work in some of the booklets. Booklet
IV is made up entirely of her poems. There are fifteen different booklets having, all together, approximately thirty different
covers. Booklet III consists of meaningful poems meant primarily for children.
